Performing Power Management Remotely

The ENDPOINTS page provides menu options to let you power down and reset endpoints remotely. These actions are performed on one or more individual endpoints and occur as soon as you apply them from the ENDPOINTS menu, or after any currently running scheduled actions have completed. Alternatively, you can create a schedule to power down or reset one or more groups of endpoints in the future.

Powering Down Endpoints

The POWER DOWN option causes an endpoint to power down right away, or after any currently running scheduled actions have completed. You can power down an endpoint either from its ENDPOINT DETAILS page or from the ENDPOINTS page, as shown below.

  1. From the MC's top menu, click ENDPOINTS.
  2. In either the GROUPED or UNGROUPED table, select one or more endpoints that you wish to power down.
Note: Use Ctrl+click to select non-contiguous endpoints.
  3. Click ENDPOINT and then POWER DOWN.
  4. Click OK at the message prompt.

Resetting Endpoints

The POWER RESET option causes an endpoint to reboot right away, or after any currently running scheduled actions have completed. You can reset an endpoint either from its ENDPOINT DETAILS page or from the ENDPOINTS page, as shown below.

  1. From the MC's top menu, click ENDPOINTS.
  2. In either the GROUPED or UNGROUPED table, select one or more endpoints that you wish to reset.
Note: Use Ctrl+click to select non-contiguous endpoints.
  3. Click ENDPOINT and then POWER RESET.
  4. Click OK at the message prompt.

Resetting Endpoint Properties to Their Defaults

The RESET TO DEFAULT option causes an endpoint to reboot and reset its default configuration right away, or after any currently running scheduled actions have completed. You can reset an endpoint to its default configuration either from its ENDPOINT DETAILS page or from the ENDPOINTS page, as shown below.

  1. From the MC's top menu, click ENDPOINTS.
  2. In either the GROUPED or UNGROUPED table, select one or more endpoints that you wish to reset.
Note: Use Ctrl+click to select non-contiguous endpoints.
  3. Click ENDPOINT and then RESET TO DEFAULT.
  4. Click OK at the message prompt.
