What's New in This Release?¶

Release 23.08 of the Client SDK for Windows includes the following:

Client CPU Efficiency Improvement: H.264 Hardware Decode¶

Version 23.08 of the Client SDK for Windows introduces support for H.264 hardware decode for select Anyware agent and client hardware configurations, using the Anyware Client to enable the decode. This provides improved framerates, particularly for high-resolution content, when using PCoIP Ultra with GPU Offload or Auto Offload. H.264 hardware decode also results in lowered CPU workload, potentially reducing power consumption. This feature must be used in combination with the High Performance Client.

Important: Session Client API has been removed

As of version 23.04, the Session Client API has been removed from the Client SDK for Windows. There is no replacement. If you have used the session client API in your projects, refer to the broker client example (provided in the SDK) which shows how to use the command line parameters in place of the API when invoking the client from the SDK. You can also revert to version 23.01, the last version of the SDK that contains the Session Client API, which is supported until December 2023.
